    Original Boston Sheet Music 1840 Printing
    "Hall's Quick Step"
    dedicated to Orderly John Hall by The Greys
    Published by Oakes & Swan, 8 1/2 Tremont Row, Boston, Massachusetts with an 1840 copy right to the publisher.
    Excellent condition early lithograph impression signed by the artist R. Cooke and his firm Thayer's Lithog. of Boston. The cover is printed on two stones the first of yellow ink with a second pass with the black ink for the image definition.
    Imprinted "As performed by the Boston Brigade Band" one of our nation's finest marching bands of the 19th century.
    This is a scarce sheet in any condition and this printing is certainly well above average shape with the cover page an extremely detailed and an early impression from the original lithograph stone.  The sheet music is sized at 10" by 13" and was personally removed from a privately collected and bound set of early Boston Sheet Music. There are two interior pages of piano composition with the piece composed and arranged by T. Bricher and as performed by the famous Boston Brigade Band, a long successful marching band of the 19th century.   The rear cover is blank and there is no appreciable soiling or wear flaws.  The interior and rear cover has light foxing due to the acidic reaction of paper and ink but no mildew nor offensive storage odor present.
